This section features selected publications on shared reading, dialogic reading, and bilingual language development from our research team and other experts in the field. Our work examines how shared reading supports children's vocabulary, language, literacy, and parent-child interactions, and how evidence-based reading interventions can benefit bilingual families. Together, these publications have informed the design and implementation of the current bilingual dialogic reading project.
The current Carer-child Bilingual Shared Reading Project has generated a rich dataset on the effects of home-based bilingual dialogic reading on Chinese-English bilingual children's language development. We are currently preparing the publications reporting the findings from this project, including children's bilingual vocabulary development, parent experiences of bilingual shared reading, and implications for supporting bilingual families and educators.
